Effective March 26, 2023
Sambucks Credit (“Sambucks”), formerly called Store Credit, is the same as paying cash to The Sam Exponential, LLC (“The Sam Exponential”, “we”, “our”).
Eligibility
All Users (“you”, “your”) of The Sam Exponential website (“Site”) can receive Sambucks. You agree to provide accurate and complete information, and it is your responsibility to ensure that your registered email address with The Sam Exponential is correct and up to date.
Receiving or earning Sambucks
Sambucks purchased will automatically appear in your account on the Site.
Refunds for cash and credit card purchases will be in the form of Sambucks and can take up to 72 hours to appear in your account on the Site.
Occasionally you may have the opportunity to earn Sambucks from certain actions on the Site or through promotional events of The Sam Exponential. The amount of Sambucks you can earn and any other additional requirements or terms will be described in connection with each offer. Please read these additional terms carefully before deciding whether or not you would like to participate. For example, an offer may have limitations like the maximum number of uses of the offer, the minimum amount you must spend for a purchase in order to start earning Sambucks, the maximum Sambucks or cash value allowed for earning or redemption, or specific exclusions of certain products.
Once you earn Sambucks, your Sambucks will be pending until they are available for redemption, and this timeframe will vary by transaction because some events/actions need The Sam Exponential staff to complete the last step(s). We maintain the right to review the accrual of Sambucks and determine in our sole discretion whether certain actions meet the qualifications for Sambucks.
You are solely responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from the accruing or redeeming of Sambucks.
Non-Transferable
Users do not acquire property rights in pending or accrued Sambucks. Sambucks may not be transferred, bartered or sold, including in the event of death.
If you have accumulated Sambucks under multiple email addresses belonging to you, at your request we can merge all your accounts into one (1) account under one (1) email address. This means that all other accounts except the one you want to keep will be closed. Data including receipts and records of purchases, comments, reviews, and course progress will not move over in the merge. Any courses and products you’ve bought through the other accounts will be made available in the merged account if they aren’t already available to you.
Redeeming Sambucks
Sambucks are redeemable at checkout if they cover the entire cost of your cart plus any applicable tax.
Sambucks can be put towards the cost of a product or service if you don’t have enough to cover the entire cart. Email sam@thesamexponential.com requesting a coupon for the amount you want to use. The requested Sambucks will be subtracted from your balance and issued through the coupon.
Choose the Sambucks payment option on the Checkout page before purchasing. Sambucks cannot be applied to purchases retroactively.
Redeemable items
Sambucks can be redeemed for (almost) anything except
- Sambucks
- joint collaborations/offers (where The Sam Exponential is working with other businesses or individuals to bring you something awesome)
- services or products specifically marked with “Cannot be redeemed with Sambucks.”
- items in the Rewards store
Checking balances
Your Sambucks balance and balance history are available in your Account Dashboard.
If you believe there may be a mistake with the Sambucks in your account, you have 30 days from the date of issue to submit a claim.
Non-refundable
Purchases of Sambucks are non-refundable under all circumstances, except where required by law.
Purchases made using Sambucks may be fully or partially refunded if you follow the refund request process as laid out in our Terms of Use.
Any full or partial payments that were made using Sambucks will be refunded in Sambucks (not in cash).
Sambucks Expiration
Sambucks you purchase or get as a refund for cash/credit card purchases do not expire.
Sambucks issued for a promotion expire after 6 months from the date of issue. The validity period of your Sambucks is confirmed in writing at the point of issue.
The last day your Sambucks are valid is known as your Expiration Date. Sambucks expires at 11:59:59 PM Chicago Central time on the Expiration Date.
Any unused or unspent Sambucks will no longer remain valid after the Expiration Date has passed and will no longer be valid for redemption.
Expiration Date extensions will not be given, except in extenuating circumstances that will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
As a courtesy, we send you an automated email reminder 60 and 30 days before your Sambucks Expiration Date, however please be mindful that it is your responsibility to use your Sambucks before the Expiration Date.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we may modify our Points expiration rules and policies for any Points in the Program from time to time, and if your Points expire pursuant to such then-current rules or policies, we may remove such Points from your account, without any compensation or further obligation to you regarding the expired Points.
Termination, Suspension, Closure
We reserve the right to remove or restrict Sambucks usage.
Where Sambucks has been given as a bonus, a gift, a courtesy, a fun surprise, or under any other circumstance (with the exception of Sambucks that has been purchased), we reserve the right to remove, revoke, restrict or otherwise make void Sambucks balances in case of abuse or exceptional circumstances.
For example, if a payment plan falls into arrears, we may restrict the ability to redeem Sambucks until we’re squared away. These circumstances will be handled at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.
We may disqualify you from purchasing and earning Sambucks outside of refunds of cash/credit card purchases and/or suspend or terminate your account (with or without notice) according to the Terms of Use. If we find or suspect that you are interfering with the accrual and/or redemption of Sambucks, engaging in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to us or The Sam Exponential’s partners, or acting in violation of these Terms or other rules or policies shown on our Site. This includes:
1. Violating applicable law,
2. Abusing Sambucks,
3. Trying to circumvent any of these Terms,
4. Submitting false information or conducting other fraudulent activity, and
5. Creating multiple accounts.
We reserve the right to bar from purchasing and earning Sambucks outside of refunds of cash/credit card purchases anyone who has been terminated or suspended for misconduct from any other The Sam Exponential Services, or from a promotion or program of any of our affiliates.
If we suspend or terminate your account, unredeemed Sambucks may be forfeited.
If you decide to close your account while you still have unredeemed or pending Sambucks, any unredeemed or pending Sambucks will be forfeited.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, if your account becomes inactive and is permanently deactivated, any Sambucks that have not been redeemed will be unrecoverable. If you have logged into your account in the prior 12 months, your account will be considered active. The Sam Exponential may also decide that other actions qualify as “active” in its sole discretion.
Program and Terms Changes
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Sam Exponential reserves the right to amend, suspend, change or terminate the Sambucks Credit program in whole or in part, including special offers at any time with or without notice, provided that The Sam Exponential will allow at least six months for you to redeem any accrued Sambucks.
